Christian Dior DiorSkin Nude Skin-Glowing Makeup - Foundation Review

Whilst out shopping at the weekend I was perusing the make up counters and my eyes were drawn to the Dior stand and the nude collection. It is just the kind of make up I like, nude, beige and brown tones in gorgeous lipsticks, glosses and nail polishes and of course the new DiorSkin Nude Foundation, advertised by a beautiful actress that I quite simply adore - Natalie Portman. If I looked like her I would be insanely happy!

The assistant offered to foundation match me and gave me a sample to take away and try. I was matched to shade Light Beige 020. This is actually the perfect match for me.

Claims

Emblematic of the range, this light, melting foundation has become a cult product. It provides a subtle velvet finish with just the right amount of correction, revealing the skin's texture and adding natural, shine-free radiance for a perfect natural glow. It is available in 9, radiance-enhancing, specialized shades that use translucence and half tones to adjust to every complexion, for an even more natural result in every light. Its formula is enriched with natural skin care ingredients for more beautiful and radiant skin, day after day.

My thoughts

Texture wise I find this fluid foundation to be extremely light and very thin. You have to work quickly blending it in as it dries fast, I found it felt weirdly dry in my fingers. However, it melts into the skin instantly so that it becomes virtually undetectable. My skin but better (this seems to be a common theme for the the newer foundations, less mask like more natural beauty).

This is a light to medium coverage makeup and I must admit to being a little worried when the counter assistant said the coverage was less than YSL La Teint Touche Eclat Foundation. Regular readers will know that I suffer from rosacea on my cheeks so I am looking for my foundation to cover this and give me a flawless finish.

I was very pleasantly surprised as it covers pores and redness and overall leaves me with a really nice, soft and natural velvet matte finish with no shine but brightness. I feel that this is a perfect foundation going into Autumn/Winter.

Nude has good lasting power, I wore it for 7+ hours and it remained fresh and flawless looking, the only downside was that my nose started to get shiny but this was solved with a quick brush of powder.

This is good for my normal/combination skin and since I have been using Rosehip oil at night I haven't suffered with dry patches on my cheeks so I am not able to say if it would cling to any dry patches that you may have.

Finally, I leave you with a picture of me wearing DiorSkin Nude - What do you think? Have you tried this foundation?
