First of its kind, this perfume is an innovation in fluid technology It's black like the soul of fame, but invisible once airborne.
My thoughts
Loud, ostentatious and brash, a real show stopper. A scent that announces your arrival. That was what I was expecting from the first perfume by Lady Gaga. However, what I actually got was a fragrance that is far more understated than that.
Unusually this doesn't have the top note, heart note and base note that forms the composition of many perfumes but instead features something known as "push-pull technology” in that the ingredients are mixed to highlight different aspects of each fragrant note at the same time, without any hierarchy.
The result is that the scent doesn't develop as time goes on but is pretty much a constant until it fades.
I found the scent to be pleasant - a floral and fruity blend with a gorgeous back drop of sweet honey.
It smells quite familiar, perhaps of something I may have had in the 1990's. Thinking more and more about it I really think that this smells not too dissimilar to Exclamation Original (anyone remember that?)
My husband came into my room after I had applied it and commented that I smelt 'nice'. I suppose that is the issue I have with Fame - it is just nice, not exceptional or anything out of the ordinary and to be honest I was expecting this celebrity fragrance to offer something a little bit more.
Of course there is the gimmick of the black fluid that turns clear, an interesting touch, that may appeal to a younger consumer but for a women in her 30's did nothing to add to the scent experience.
I feel that this scent will appeal to a younger audience, someone more my age may prefer a fragrance with more depth and complexity.

I tried it but found it too sickly for my taste. I agree that it's probably better suited to younger wearer. It didn't last that long on me either :(

So true Jen, although it is an EDP it doesn't last that long on me either...
DeleteI ended up with 2 bottles of this due to an offer at The Girl's Big Day Out in Glasgow. I gave one bottle to a 19yr old, who absolutely adores it but surprisingly kept a bottle for myself! It smells surprisingly rich and luscious on my skin, a much deeper & less fruity/floral aroma than it is on my young friend. I would say it's one to definitely give a try,it might to surprise you!

Thanks for the comment Kirsten, how interesting that it is deeper on you, it definitely remains a fruity floral on me x
