Love On The Rocks
‘Here it is!’
After a long and testing walk they had finally found the rock Tom had played on as a child.
Lizzie looked in disgust at the rock, batting away the flies. The rock in the picture that Tom was holding, was perfect, this had not stood the test of time. Full of holes and infested with beetles it was not a pretty sight.
Had Tom really taken the time to get to know Lizzie he would have never brought her camping. Like the rock, their marriage had once been beautiful but now, it was just not worth saving.
Hope you enjoyed this story

DeleteGreat analogy in your story. Awesome !
ReplyDeleteI know some people are not too fond of camping but then marriage is also an but trying to make it more fun for the partner. Of course , that should be mutual and never one-way!
Sorry that wasn't marriage is also an but , it was marriage is also *about. 😀
DeleteThank you and I completely agree!

DeleteHe should have really asked Lizzie first. Think this trip will be the last straw for their marriage.
ReplyDeleteYes he really should, I don't think they are going to last!
DeleteVery nice story. Nice take on the prompt.

DeleteHow sad. I really liked the comparison of the crumbling rock to the failing marriage.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda
