Heartless
Ryan opened the door of the bedroom, wearing little else but
an apron and brandishing a tray of food.
‘I’ve made you breakfast.’ He stated enthusiastically with a
grin on his face.
‘Oh! I don’t eat breakfast.’ Daisy flicked her hair seductively.
Ryan wasn’t about to give up. ‘I made you toast, it’s the
healthy type. It’s seeded.’
‘I don’t eat bread, like ever!’ Daisy said dismissively.
Ryan was crestfallen, ‘But I carved out hearts and
everything.’
Daisy shrugged ‘Sorry! You should have asked.’
Ryan sighed. His dad was right, women were hard work. Next time he wouldn’t bother.
Hope you liked it

Daisy sure seems like high maintenance. Sooner Ryan understands that, the better it would be for him.
ReplyDeleteDear Bettina,
ReplyDeleteI have to wonder if Ryan went to all that trouble, is Daisy worth the effort? Wearing little else than an apron says there's more than breakfast on his mind. ;) Good one.
Shalom,
Rochelle
I hate to say it but Ryan's Dad could be right - but he shouldn't give up so easily :-)
ReplyDeleteHe'll better get more experience before he concludes that all women are like that. Good story.
ReplyDeleteDaisy sounds like a b****...... sorry to say. Good write!
ReplyDeleteActually, grains aren't all that good for you, so maybe she has a point. Also, maybe she's trying to tell him she wants something else for breakfast...like him. After all, he came dressed for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteDaisy seems like she's not worth the time... If she doesn't make it plain what she wants, then she needs to go. Well done!
ReplyDeleteShe had cut out her heart while he cut out one in the bread? So sad.
ReplyDeletehiccups in the initial months of a relationship. Patience is their best bet right now ,I would think . After all , she may have many other good qualities to compensate for this one mistake . Great character sketch and story .
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Moon
I'd move along, if I were him. Some things just aren't worth working at. Good one.
ReplyDeleteHmm...I hope Ryan does bother again, just with a different woman, one who will appreciate him! And, hopefully, one day Daisy will realize how uncommon his behavior was and learn to appreciate.
ReplyDeleteGood story.
Women are hard work? I couldn't possibly comment! Nice one Bettina.

sounds like it's time for new woman in your life.
ReplyDeleteYou're wasting your time with this one.
Very well written.
ReplyDeleteOof. Daisy needs some lessons in gratitude. She's the woman who will one day be complaining because her lover never does anything for her.
ReplyDeletehahah she is so hard to impress..nice one :)
