Perfume Sample Saturday - Cartier Baiser Vole Eau De Toilette Review

Cartier's Baiser Volé Eau de Parfum is one of my favourite scents so I was looking forward to wearing the EDT version yesterday.

Description

A fresh, young floral. A new, rare and still pristine Lily which release a pure and crystal-clear perfume

My thoughts

Just like the original EDP, the EDT, on initial spray contains a sharp, acidic tone to it but this dissipates almost immediately to leave a fresh, clean and cool scent that is really rather pleasant for the warm Summer days. As the hours pass this changes to a pretty and delicate floral scent of Lily.

This is a nice scent but I think if I was going to buy a Cartier scent the EDP version just beats it with its floaty charm.

Perfume Sample Saturday - Cartier Delices de Cartier Eau de Toilette

Delices de Cartier EDT

Description

Delicious and impertinent: Top Notes of Sicilian Bergamot, Iced Cherry and Pink Pepper.
Floral and feminine: Heart Notes of Jasmine, Violet and Freesia.
Voluptuous and sensual: Base Notes of White Sandalwood, Amber and Tonka Bean

My thoughts

I was really excited after spraying this scent as it smelt so similar to the perfume I chose as my wedding perfume - Gucci Envy Me 2 (sadly it was a limited edit) which I adored and holds such special memories for me.  I had to compare the notes in them.

Gucci Envy Me 2

Top Notes: Orange oils and Violet.
Heart Notes: Bulgarian rose and Heliotrope.
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Patchouli, and Vanilla.

Surprisingly the ingredients on the face of it appear quite different but actually the notes are similar - orange/citrus notes, violet and vanilla - the end result to my nose is almost a perfect match -deliciously feminine, sweet and delicately floral with a fading warm vanilla note that speaks of Spring. I don't seem to pick up the fruitiness in the scents but that suits me just fine as I am not a huge fan of fruity scents.

Cartier Delices de Cartier EDT costs approx £56.50 for 50ml

Perfume Sample Saturday - Cartier Baiser Vole Eau de Parfum - Review

Another weekend and another sample perfume to try. I must admit I am really enjoying working through all the vials and sprays that I have in my perfume box, each weekend I just pick one out and allow myself to experience something new.

Cartier Baiser Volé Eau de Parfum

Baiser Volé meaning Stolen Kiss

Description

A pure floral. A Lily, reinventing the freshness of the leaves, the floral notes of the petals and the powderiness of the flowers pistil. A stolen kiss, for a moment of pure passion.

Every aspect of the lily, a flower of unsettling femininity, is explored for the first time.

My thoughts

The initial spray is quite sharp and acidic and at that precise moment I wasn't sure whether I was going to like this perfume at all. However, once a few seconds had passed, this unpleasantness was replaced with the green scent of freshly cut flowers which was far more pleasurable. A few minutes later there was a delightful hint of floral. Baiser Volé finally settles to reveal a soft, sweet and quite simply beautiful powdery scent that is truly magnificent with an air of sophistication. If clouds were scented they would be just like this. Think marshmallows or a huge, bouncy four poster bed full of fluffy sheets and pillows. It evokes such sweet thoughts that I find this such a joy to wear.

It does remind me of Love Chloe which I find to be far stronger and more soapy than powdery in comparison.

Cartier Baiser Volé EDP Spray costs £47 for 30ml
