REN Keep Young and Beautiful Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift Review

REN Keep Young and Beautiful Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift has to be one of the longest product names for a tiny bottle of loveliness but don't let that put you off. The product and the packaging are excellent.

I was sent this product to try after a recent 30 plus blogs twitter chat and it was timely. I am a new mum (baby was born just under 4 weeks ago) but I have been sleep deprived for months now! I couldn't think of a better person to give this a try....

What REN say

A light gel-serum that instantly lifts and dramatically brightens the delicate eye area. Visibly diminishes dark circles and puffiness. A liquid matrix of Hyaluronans lifts and tightens. Regular use will reduce the appearance of fine lines and crow’s feet, improving the overall look of the eye contour.
Results:
Instantly lifts and brightens the entire eye contour

Reduces dark circles, puffiness and crow’s feet

Skin type:

All skin types.

How to use:
Apply a small amount over the eye contour and eyelid. Gently massage without rubbing until absorbed. Reapply over moisturiser or make up throughout the day for an instant lift.

My thoughts
First up I love the pump action bottle for ease of use and it is easy to control how much product to dispense.

I adore the delicate rose scent which makes this beauty shot eye gel/serum very pleasant to use.

The eye gel is a wonderfully light fluid that absorbs well into the skin leaving no residue. I like to apply my concealer on top of this and it hydrate the area beautifully and the concealer doesn't sit in the lines or creases. Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift does exactly what it promises - brightens and smooths the eye area so you look instantly less sleep deprived and just makes the general eye area look so much better. Where my eyes look tired and crepey before use, this perks them up nicely and any dry crepiness is banished.

I am loving using this as part of my skincare routine.

I give this product a huge thumbs up :)

Holiday Skincare - What I Packed In My Travel Bag

I have just returned from a week's holiday in Ibiza. I wanted to travel light so tried to keep my skincare and make up items to the minimum but included a few pampering items as I didn't want to miss out!

This post is about the skincare items I popped in my travel bag..

Facial Care

Garnier Skin Naturals Fresh Essentials Vitamin Enriched Cleansing Wipes (25) -

I picked these up for £2 from Tesco. Contains grape extract, suitable for normal/combination skin and even removes waterproof make-up. I loved using these, the scent is gorgeous and it was effective at cleansing, left my skin very soft after and didn't irritate my skin. Whilst I would not use this as an everyday cleanser, for the holidays these wipes were ideal.

REN Trio  - These super minis came free with my Red Magazine so I saved them to take on holiday.

REN Hydra-Calm Global Protection Day Cream

I used this in the evenings before applying my make-up. I wasn't overly keen on the scent so I wouldn't purchase a full size version but it did leave my skin feeling lovely and soft and feeling hydrated. The lotion was light and absorbed quickly. It is suitable for sensitive skin and is paraben free.

REN Active 7 Radiant Eye Gel

I was looking forward to using this as it claims to be a light gel with cooling properties to revive and brighten the eye area, unfortunately when I applied it, I felt a slight stinging sensation so I removed it and didn't use it again.

REN Vetiver v7 Hand & Body Cream

I used this as a hand cream and really loved it, although it had a similar scent to the face cream I didn't mind it so much on my hands. My hands felt soft and velvety smooth. The cream was not sticky and absorbed instantly.

My favourite toothpaste, this came free when I bought a toothbrush. Handy travel size.

Bath & Hair Care

Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo and Conditioner Travel Minis

Asda were doing 3 minis for a £3 which I thought was a fab bargain - so I bought these delicious smelling products from Aussie. Miracle Moist left my hair soft, shiny and manageable. Winners.

Elemis Frangipani Monoi Shower Cream

Taking this shower cream was a bit of an indulgence on my part. I never like the free shower gels that come in hotel bathrooms as they feel too drying. This is an exquisitely floral scented shower cream (infused with Tahitian monoi and frangipani flower ) that leaves skin soft and delicately scented. The bottle came in a Christmas Gift Set.

Suncare

I have already reviewed this which you can read by clicking on the title.

Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Moisture Mist® Hydrating Spray

Not an essential but a welcome cooling spray for when I felt too hot. You could find me spritzing this all over my hair, face and body as it smelt so nice! This came in one of the Glossyboxes.

Garnier Ambre Solaire Aftersun Refreshing Hydrating Spray 200ml

Another winner for me, this was a bargain again from Asda, at half price. This spray was mist like, turning into a cloudy liquid when it touched the skin. It dried almost instantly leaving no sticky residue just cool, soft and moisturised skin. The scent just oozes holiday, great product.

REN Max Moisture Concentrate - Review

REN Max Moisture Concentrate was included in a bag given to me after the afternoon tea and facial I had at The Athenaeum. It has been languishing in a plastic box ever since, mainly as the product name suggested to me that it was for parched skin and I have had normal/combination for as long as I can remember....

After using the Origins Brighter By Nature SPF35 Skin Perfecting Moisturiser I felt my skin was feeling quite dry and in particular my cheeks. With the weather changing from cold to hot to cold and back to hot it has been wreaking havoc on my skin, my face has literally been begging me for a moisture injection. This was very apparent when I applied foundation, I could see the foundation clinging on to this dry area of my cheeks and looking like a dried out apple skin.

Whilst checking to see if I had anything that would help this new dryness I came across the Ren Max Moisture Concentrate and thought I would give it a whirl.

REN say -

A concentrate formulated to dramatically hydrate and replenish the skin leaving it visibly plumped, smoothed and comfortable.

Results:

Optimises hydration
Restores softness, elasticity and comfort
Skin looks replenished, smoothed and healthy.

Suitable for all skin types (especially recommended for skin prone to dryness through climates, air conditioning or sensitivity).

Application - Morning and night after cleansing, follow with a moisturiser.

My thoughts

I like the design and the handy pump action glass bottle. The product comes out as a light, fluid texture that instantly absorbs. It has a pleasant, fresh scent.

I found that as I applied it would feel like it was tightening on my face almost like I was wearing a mask, using a moisturiser after helped ease that feeling. I first tried it at night, next morning my skin felt softer and the appearance of my cheeks had improved a little, it looked less dehydrated. I have been using the REN product for a week now and have seen a great improvement, this is most noticeable when I apply foundation as there is no dry patches for it to cling to. Skin is smoother, feels softer and yes even a bit plumper. I have found this to be a great moisture boost.
